Cranberry Balsamic Sauce
A very simple, three-ingredient cranberry sauce that packs a punch of flavour and balances the sweet and tang of Cranberry without an overwhelming amount of sugar. In fact, we don't add any sugar at all.
Ingredients:
- 1 package of fresh cranberries
- 200mL of Orange Juice
- 200mL of Cranberry Pear Balsamic Vinegar
Method:
- In a heavy-bottom sauce pan, add the cranberries, orange juice and Cranberry Pear Balsamic.
- You do not want the cranberries submerged in liquid, so add slowly and adjust for less if necessary.
- Simmer over medium heat until the cranberries burst.
- Use a potato masher to break up all the berries and simmer for 10-15 minutes, uncovered to reduce some liquid.
- Remove from heat and pour the cranberry sauce into a bowl (with a lid) to cool - cool uncovered and then pop the lid on and into the fridge. The natural pectins in the cranberry will thicken the sauce.
